Cold Dew and Health Tips

Today is the Cold Dew (hán lù 寒露) the 17th solar term of the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar. The weather becomes cold enough to reach dew point, but not cold enough to reach frost point.

Each of the solar terms are divided into three pentads and the three for Cold Dew are

鴻雁來賓, The geese are migrating to the south,

雀入大水為蛤 The sparrows enter the ocean and become clams

菊有黃華 Chrysanthemums bloom yellow.

Health tips:

After the Cold Dew, with the continual dropping of temperature and dry weather, influenza will become the most common disease. .Use warm water to soak both feet till slightly sweat, not only prevent flu but also beneficial for general wellbeing.

Eat white color food such as Chinese Yam, Daikon Radish, pear, white onions that helps the lung.
